I feel privileged to teach at an institution like BMCC, and I fully believe in its mission to be a “diverse teaching and learning community committed to advancing equity and the intellectual and personal growth of students.” My goal is to provide students of all backgrounds and abilities with a strong education and to prepare them, to the best of my ability, for the academic, professional, or personal paths they choose to pursue. Meeting the needs of such a diverse group of learners requires patience, creativity, and a deep commitment – qualities I have worked to cultivate throughout my time here. I take pride in connecting with our students, understanding their challenges, and helping them realize their potential. It has been deeply inspiring to see our students succeed in so many ways, from earning full scholarships at highly selective institutions to entering the workforce through our internship programs. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this success through the various roles and initiatives I have outlined in this application.
I am committed to contributing to the long-term success of BMCC and look forward to many more years of service to the institution and its students. I hope and trust that my record of service, dedication, and achievement at BMCC is recognized. A promotion to Associate Professor would signal that the college values my contributions and, in turn, provide both encouragement and support for my continued work. It would not only recognize what I have accomplished thus far, but also reflect and honor the impact, dedication, and commitment I have demonstrated throughout my time at BMCC.
